10 Nigerian Celebrities With Chieftaincy Titles

Some of our Nigerian celebrities have been honoured with traditional titles in and outside their hometowns. 

1. Tuface Idibia

Recently, Tu Face was honoured with the “Tafidan Kudendan of Kudendan” by the His Royal Highness Galadima of Kudendan Chiefdom. The title translates to “Ambassador of Peace”. He was rewarded with this for his role in the Vote Not Fight Campaign.

2. Genevieve Nnaji

The star actress received the title Eze Ada 1 of Amuzu Nweafor in her hometown Mbaise, Imo state.

3. Ngozi Ezeonu

The Ezenwanyi Ndigbo Na Nollywood title, which literally means “queen mother of practitioners of Igbo stock in Nollywood” was conferred on her by the Igbo Film Forum (IFF) and Ohanaeze Ndigbo Nollywood (ONN).

4. Oge Okoye

Oge Okoye is now the Igolo Nwanyi 1 of Amoli kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

5. Richard Mofe Damijo

RMD was given the  title Dike Oha na Nollywood during the three-day Nollywood Igbo Film Festival.

6. Patience Ozokwor

She received the title in 2011 as Ada Eji Eje Mba 1 of Ngwo from the people of her town in Enugu State.

7. Omotola Jalade Ekeinde

The Nollywood diva was honoured in her hometown by the Paramount Ruler of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Kiladejo and decorated with the title by Ondo State Governor Mimiko.

8. Ini Edo

Ini Edo received the title alongside Patience Ozokwor, Richard Mofe Damijo and Emeka Ike. The title was conferred on them by the traditional ruler of Egbonike, in Anambra State.

9. Emeka Ike

The Nollywood actress was given the title of Akwa Ugo 1 of Amoli Kingdom of Enugu state for her contribution to the growth and development of the Igbo land.
